What we collect, and what we don't
The arena is anonymous by design. You don't sign in, and we never store anything that identifies you personally. Here's exactly what happens when you vote.
What a vote records
Your pick (A, B, or 'neither sounds human'), how long each clip played, your reaction time, and which side was shown first — covariates that let us measure position and order bias. None of it identifies you.
(Votes cast before 2026-07-01 may carry a since-removed Tie verdict; those are excluded from the ranking.)
The two cookies we set
A random anonymous id (so one device's votes can be de-duplicated) and your language choice. Both are strictly functional — they only make the test work and aren't used to track you anywhere else.
Your IP is hashed, never stored raw
To blunt ballot-stuffing we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for rate-limiting. The raw address is never written down and the hash can't be reversed back to it.
Email — only if you ask for the report
If you request the full report we store the email you give us, solely to send it and occasional updates when the ranking changes. No email is collected from voting, and you can ask us to delete it any time.
What we never do
No accounts, no names, no selling or sharing your data, no cross-site advertising trackers. The audio clips are public-domain human recordings and provider-synthesized samples — not anything about you.
Analytics
We use Vercel's privacy-friendly analytics and PostHog for aggregate traffic, performance, and product usage — both run cookieless, store no personal data, and never follow you across other sites.
Who processes the data
Hosting and analytics are on Vercel, product analytics is PostHog (cookieless mode — no cookies, no cross-site tracking), the database is Neon (Postgres), and report email — when enabled — goes through Resend. Each only sees what's needed to run the service.
